WELCOME

We are delighted that you are interested in the society. We are a group of like-minded people who are interested in the Visual Arts – Painting, Wood Carving, Fine Art and Jewellery etc. with varying abilities from Beginners to professionals all sharing a wish to developing their knowledge and skills.

Our Aims

  • To promote an interest in fine arts and to encourage Members of all ages to develop their skills and creativity.

  • To promote contact with like-minded people whether interests are traditional or modern.

  • To provide artists with the opportunity to exhibit their work.

  • To provide the opportunity to attend workshops and painting days.

  • To enjoy a year’s programme of events full of interesting demonstrations and lectures and visits.

Programme of Events

  1. Monthly Meetings with demonstrations or lectures by professional artists, are held at The Methodists Church Centre, Old Town.

  2. The Annual Art Exhibition of members’ work is usually held during the last two weeks of August. The event established over 50 years ago has become well known in the Art World attracting visitors from far and wide.

  3. Regular visits are arranged to major Exhibitions with a coach leaving from the centre of Stratford upon Avon going to London and other cities.

  4. The Annual Founders’ Lecture is held the 2nd week of May each year at the Shakespeare Centre, Henley Street, Stratford upon Avon. Where an eminent art specialist lectures on a specific subject.
