Four Plays and an Interval

An evening of light-hearted plays presented by the Phoenix Players.  Four contrasting shows, by turns funny, poignant and heart-warming, brought together by this experienced group, featuring Phoenix stalwarts such as Graham Robson and Roger Gowland and many new players, to create a delightful evening of entertainment.

Play No 1 – is “A nice cup of tea” by Jos Biggs – an amusing tale of Health and Safety zeal putting family harmony at risk

Play No 2 – “Dancers” from the “Deckchairs” suite of plays by Jean McConnell – an equally amusing tale of love and rivalry in the competitive world of ballroom dancing

Interval

Play No 3 – “Tits, Cigs and Zips” – by Phoenix member Andi Hardy. The play was extremely well received at the recent Lighthorne Drama Festival. It is a poignant and amusing story of friendships formed in an airport departure lounge

Play No 4 – “Brummagem Pals” – by local actor and Phoenix member Roger Gowland. A further poignant and amusing play in which three veterans look back to the First World War.
