The Bear Pit Board of Directors has been monitoring the situation closely.

Following government advice, and alongside other UK theatres, The Bear Pit Theatre has taken the difficult decision to close, as of 17 March. This closure will be for an undetermined period of time and will remain under review in line with government advice.  This includes all Bear Pit Theatre Company productions, rehearsals, planned auditions and other theatre company hires. Please continue to check our website and social media platforms over the next few days for further information regarding future performances.

If you have booked tickets for any productions between March and April, the Box Office team will contact you as soon as we can about your refund options.  Please do not contact the Box Office as we are currently experiencing high levels of calls and you could have a long waiting time.

We feel sure we are acting in the best interests of our patrons, actors and volunteers, who are vital to our day to day operations.

We thank you all for your support and patience at this challenging time.

In the meantime, the next few months are going to prove very difficult for small businesses and the arts in general. The Bear Pit Theatre is a registered charity and a voluntary organisation. If you would like to gift your ticket money back to us as a charitable donation, it would be gratefully received. The easiest way to donate is via our ‘JustGiving‘ page.
