Name that seat!

The Bear Pit Theatre is unique in many ways. You now have the opportunity of sponsoring a seat!

Matthew Kelly

Matthew Kelly who starred in Volpone at the Swan Theatre as part of his debut season with the RSC during the summer of 2015 took time away from his busy schedule to try out the new seating at The Bear Pit.

Commenting he said: “This is an inspirational move by The Bear Pit to not only safeguard a part of the RSC’s history, but provide a seat for life for Bear Pit fans and their friends. It’s so important for the audience to be comfy – you can’t concentrate on what is happening on stage if your arse aches!”

The Bear Pit Theatre has bought seating from the Royal Shakespeare Company’s Courtyard Theatre, which is currently undergoing a major renovation programme and Bear Pit Theatre goers now have the chance  to sponsor a seat for £100 or two for £150.

All sponsors will benefit from their chosen seat bearing an individually engraved plaque.

Naming a seat is a perfect way to celebrate a special occasion, dedicate to a memory of someone dear to you, or add your own name or your organisation’s name to the supporters of this unique ‘little’ theatre in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon. Sponsorship funds will go towards paying the cost of the seats.
