Come and write plays with us!

Workshops are free!

The Bear Pit Theatre Writers’ Workshops are welcoming, supportive and creative events. During the sessions, attendees will explore writing techniques, experiment to see what works and showcase new, original writing. Being based in a busy working theatre we have access to directors, stage crew, lighting and sound engineers, costume and set design, as well as many talented and experienced actors.

We meet every fortnight on Monday evenings at the theatre. Some of our most popular sessions are ‘Just Write’, in which we take time out of our busy schedules to do just that. But we also explore exercises, look at examples and discuss different types of writing. Opportunities exist to work with the Bear Pit Theatre to see some of our work on stage through rehearsed readings or performance.

Dates/Times for workshops are 7pm – 9pm:
