Amicantus: Songs for an Autumn Evening

An evening of music and songs brought to you by Amicantus and their Musical Director, Maddy Evans.

Amicantus are delighted to return to the Bear Pit for an evening of varied musical items, including songs from the classical, musical theatre and pop genres.

Amicantus is a group of 20 talented singers and close friends, and was formed in 2012 by Maddy Evans. Since then they have performed in a wide variety of local venues, including the Bridgehouse Theatre in Warwick, the German Christmas Market in Birmingham, and recently, an extremely successful concert at Holy Trinity church in Stratford-upon-Avon. Amicantus have also enjoyed being involved in several Bear Pit productions.

Last year, Amicantus recorded their first album – a collection of Christmas music, which sold out in weeks. They are excited to be involved in their first professional collaboration on the single “Not So Haunted” by “Man Made Moon”, to be released later in 2016.

The name is loosely based on the Latin for “friends who sing”, and that is exactly what they are. Rehearsals are always full of fun and laughter, and countless audience members have commented on how much this is projected in their uplifting performances. Songs For An Autumn Evening promises to be a lovely evening!
