Synopsis

Cinema Screening

Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is the fourth film in the beloved Bridget Jones series. It was released in 2025 and based on Helen Fielding’s 2013 novel.

The film is set several years after the events of Bridget Jones’s Baby. Bridget (Renée Zellweger) navigates life as a widowed single mother following the tragic death of Mark Darcy, who was killed on a humanitarian mission.

As she raises her two children, Billy and Mabel, Bridget is encouraged by friends and family to re-enter the dating world.

With her trademark blend of awkward charm and heartfelt sincerity, Bridget is caught between two very different suitors. A younger man (played by Leo Woodall) who brings excitement and spontaneity, and her son’s science teacher (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a thoughtful widower with children of his own.

As Bridget juggles parenting, grief, and the chaos of modern romance, the film explores themes of resilience, rediscovery, and the enduring power of love. All with the humour and warmth that have defined the series.

Familiar faces like Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) and Dr. Rawlings (Emma Thompson) return, adding both comic relief and emotional depth.
