Synopsis

The story follows Grace, a long-serving vicar’s wife who is newly widowed.

After a lifetime of being on her “best behaviour,” she revels in her newfound freedom to speak her mind, often to her late husband, Bardolph, whose spirit remains present only to her.

The plot thickens with the arrival of Grace’s eccentric missionary sister, Ruth.

Alongside a new, female vicar named Sarah, Ruth’s presence and some startling revelations about Bardolph force Grace to confront the real truth of her marriage
