IMPROBABLE FICTION
A Second Thoughts Production
It’s the scheduled monthly meeting of the Pendon Writers Circle tonight, but as it’s nearly Christmas attendance is down a bit. And those who do manage to get to chairman Arnold’s house are down a bit, too: the dreaded writer’s block. They each reveal their progress (or rather, embarrassing lack of it) in their chosen literary genres. As a desperate measure Arnold proposes they collaborate on a story which combines all their styles. That’s the cue for thunder and lightning and a crazy intertwining of Victorian melodrama, 1920’s who-dunnit and science fiction. Central to this vortex of quick-change and highly improbable plotting is Arnold’s elderly (unseen) mother: has she been murdered or abducted by aliens?
