A Bear Pit Theatre Company Production

A Road, a wild night, a drunken tour guide, a journey to the gutter and the stars and back. Jim Cartwright’s award winning seminal play gives expression to the inhabitants of an unnamed northern road in Eighties Britain. The play emerged when there were three million people unemployed, widespread poverty, a divided nation, but no food banks.  What is tragic is that it seems just as relevant today. Fewer unemployed, but 2,500 food banks.
