Toad of Toad Hall

26 July 2010–31 July 2010

A Bear Pit Theatre Company Production

@ The Bear Pit Theatre - Stratford-upon-Avon

Synopsis

The Wind in the Willows is one of the most beloved books of all time. Written by Kenneth Grahame, it is the nostalgic, quintessentially English tale of four friends: kind and cultured Ratty, mild-mannered Mole, sage and solitary Badger and the crazy, conceited Toad.

A A Milne (the creator of that equally iconic quartet of Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore and Tigger) adapted the novel for the stage in 1929. Like the original book, it is now a cherished classic.

When Toad becomes uncontrollably obsessed with speed, and specifically cars, he falls foul of the law and faces a 20-year prison sentence, leaving his friends in desperation that he’ll ever see sense. Even his ‘cunningly plotted’ escape from jail causes chaos…

So leap into Toad’s motor and get ahead of the pack by booking early to see the Bear Pit Theatre Company’s production … just a hop, skip and jump from the sun-dappled Avon.
