Warwickshire-based folk rock favourites Meet On The Ledge celebrate their 30th anniversary with two concerts at the Bear Pit Theatre.
Founder members Ron Holmes and Allen Maslen still remain from when MOTL began as a duo in 1992. Today they are a four-piece band, augmented by keyboard player Steve Bird and drummer Bo Davies. Keyboardist Steve has an impressive pedigree, having played keys for 1960s chart topper Eden Kane (“Well I Ask You”), 70s chart topper Don Fardon (“Indian Reservation”) as well as being in the backing band for the legendary Marty Wilde.
Drummer Bo was lead percussionist for Wasps Rugby Club at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, and is still a leading light with festival favourites Sambassadors of Groove.
Critics and reviewers have tried many times to pigeonhole MOTL’s music, with varying degrees of success. The band’s favourite description of their music is “Thrash Morris” although they are perhaps best known for their gentler material, such as their original lifeboat epic “The Mary Stanford of Rye” which has become a folk classic in its own right.
All seats are £12.
